Simon Walters was a runner-up in the Finance Leader in a Growing Business category at the Growing Business Awards 2023.

The finalists attended a glittering West End dinner on 29 November 2023, at which the winner was announced.

For the second successive year, Simon Walters won a Global CFO of the Year award, this time for his role at private equity-backed Homelink Healthcare. With Headline FD colleagues in the background providing additional support to the client, Simon’s award is a testament to the assistance provided by others in the team too.

2022

Headline FD’s Simon Walters won Global CFO of the Year for leading Cellular Goods through one of the most celebrated London stock exchange listings. In addition to Simon’s role as FD, the award recognised the contribution of the wider Headline FD team.

 

2021

Headline FD was a finalist in two categories in the British Accountancy Awards – Small Firm of the Year and the Hero Award. The organisers said of the first category: “The breakout trend for this award was the surge in firms offering virtual finance director services”. We’ve been doing this for 20 years, so we were ahead of the curve. The latter award was a new Covid-related prize, and Headline FD was shortlisted in recognition of mentoring young FDs for the ICAEW and for pro-bono support for Covid-inspired fundraising campaigns.

 

2020

Headline FD was nominated for the Accountancy Age 2020 Resilience Awards, which recognised individuals and teams who brought stability and clarity to clients during the uncertainty brought about by the pandemic.

 

2019

Headline FD was shortlisted for Independent Firm of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards.

 

2012 & 2008

Simon Walters and his team at Headline FD’s predecessor firm twice won Accountancy Age’s Small Firm of the Year Award for a “distinctive approach to business, a firm that has adopted a very interesting model and demonstrated innovation and strong growth”.
